Why Apple must announce the Verizon iPhone

Tomorrow Apple is presenting the next version of Mac OS X, nicknamed "Lion." Apple CEO Steve Jobs is expected  to reveal a brand new MacBook Air, too. But will he confirm the existence of the long-rumored Verizon iPhone? It'd be dumb if he didn't. Here's why:
In a well-publicized rant during the latest earnings call, Jobs ripped into Google's Android, providing many reasons why it's not as good as Apple. If the two mobile kingpins weren't in a shooting war before, they are now. And what better way to screw with Android than to tell everyone shopping for one of Verizon's hot Droid models to wait just two and a half months for an iPhone?

Military’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Policy Will Stand for Now

Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- A U.S. appeals court temporarily delayed enforcement of a ruling requiring the government to end its “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy barring gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military.
A three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco yesterday temporarily postponed the ruling, saying in a three-sentence order it wanted “to provide this court with an opportunity to consider fully the issues presented.”

Microsoft fighting back

BeforeApple's iPhone barged in and changed the game, Microsoft was one of the leaders in the smart phone arena. Its Windows Mobile phones were popular contenders, particularly among business users.
But the iPhone took smart phones in a different direction. The clunky menus and awkward navigation on Microsoft phones paled in comparison to the intuitive, touchscreen-based competition. Microsoft couldn't respond fast enough, and Windows Mobile's market share imploded.

WAKE UP, PRESIDENT OBAMA! You Are The Lindsay Lohan Of The Oval Office!

Mr. President — I’m a big fan but you are suffering from the same mental disease as Lindsay Lohan — DENIAL!

While virtually the entire Western hemisphere was convinced that Lindsay Lohan was an addict, she stubbornly insisted for years and through miles of partying, DUIs and rehabs, that she wasn’t. That’s called denial with a capital D!
Well, after two years in office, a crippling recession and massive unemployment, you still think that a depressed and discouraged nation should somehow see that you and the Democrats have done a great job in office?

The Glee star told GQ magazine that she refused to get surgery despite being told that she needed to get a nose job in school and when she started acting, according to reports.
"I was one of the only girls in my high school that didn't get one. And if anybody needed it, I probably did. But my mom always told me, growing up, 'Barbra Streisand didn't get a nose job. You're not getting a nose job.' And I didn't," she said.
The 24-year-old - Rachel Berry in the hit US show - added: "That's why I'm proud to be on a positive show and to be a voice for girls and say, 'You don't need to look like everybody else. Love who you are.'"
The actress posed in racy shots for the November edition of the magazine.
Asked to compare Glee with American Idol, she said: "One is about being judged, and one is not".

So what's in store for round two?

Bank of America starts thaw in foreclosure freeze

WASHINGTON – The pace of U.S. home foreclosures may not slow much after all.
Bank of America said Monday that it plans to resume seizing more than 100,000 homes in 23 states next week. It said it has a legal right to foreclose despite accusations that documents used in the process were flawed.
Other major lenders have yet to say whether they will follow suit and resume foreclosures in the 23 states that require a judge's approval. But analysts said they expect the move by the nation's biggest bank will mean other lenders will proceed with a wave of foreclosures that have depressed the housing market.

Are Police Really Probing Justin Bieber?

Belieber it or not, Justin Bieber's name is being thrown around the web today regarding something a little more scandalous than chipped nail polish: Laser tag.
It seems like an innocent enough way to pass the time (not to mention totally age appropriate!), but according to several Canadian reports, the popster was booted from a British Columbia tag joint after a 12-year-old claimed Bieber hit him while playing the game.
So was Bieber really involved in the alleged scuffle? Here's what E! News has learned:

Turned out she just wasn't able to make it to the arrivals in time. Why? Well, she'd been in Louisiana for about a day and a half rehearsing Breaking Dawn with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, so she was jetted in by private plane and made it to the Scream soiree with mere minutes to spare.
